
The Energy SHSM focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Math and Engineering) and today’s rapid and exciting changes in green energy. Students build a foundation of career-focused knowledge and skills before graduating and entering apprenticeship training, college, university, or the workplace.
The Energy SHSM is offered at Orchard Park.
Experiential Learning and Reach Aheads May Include:
- Certifications in Working at Heights, Project Management and Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Tours of local Energy companies and guest talks from industry professionals
- Participation in local and provincial Skills Competitions
- Acting as environmental ambassadors and promoting land stewardship
- Visits to college and university Engineering and Green Energy programs
- Job shadowing an energy industry professional
