Secondary: School Improvement Process
Educators will be working within their schools under the direction of the Principal.Principals will receive support from school board staff regarding material to support the deliveryof the content.
This PA Day will focus on the analysis of student achievement data using the schoolimprovement process. Educators will examine student achievement, identify areas of growth andinstructional strategies to address areas of need.

Topic: Literacy and Mathematics/Curriculum Implementation
This PA Day will focus on literacy and mathematics instruction. Professional development will focus on training regarding early reading instruction, universal design for learning, culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy, and high-yield instructional strategies. Literacy instruction will also focus on early reading screening and assessment consistent with the recommendations in the Ontario Human Rights Commission's Right to Read report. Professional learning regarding effective instructional strategies will be embedded within a focus on the implementation of revised curriculum subjects.
Student Well-being, School Safety and Violence Prevention
This PA Day will meet Ministry of Education requirements regarding the required PA Day on Student Well-being, School Safety and Violence Prevention. The following topics will be covered: Student mental health and well-being, anti-sex trafficking, and student safety and violence incident prevention. Staff will also engage in training related to health and safety topics.
