Here’s How #TakeTech Week Was Celebrated Across HWDSB
Supported through HWDSB’s Experiential Learning Lead and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), HWDSB was excited to launch Take Tech last week! The initiative supports students in seeing the power and application of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), as students build the critical 21st century skills needed to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow.
HWDSB debuted this work in Grade 8 classrooms to support the growth and application of STEAM and 21st century skills. Take Tech also supports the growth of technological education opportunities in elementary programming, continues to build deeper connections between elementary and secondary schools, and assists students in their transition to secondary school and beyond!
On the HWDSB social media channels, we celebrated #TakeTech Week with daily profiles of STEAM-related initiatives happening across the system. See a collection of those posts below to learn about robotics, aviation, healthcare, and more! We’ve also included some #TakeTech social media posts from schools, programs, educators, and more. Thank you for sharing your teachings and learnings with us!
