Course Selection Approval for Secondary Students Begins March 11

How to Translate: Click the “Translate” button at the top of the screen and select your desired language.

Families can begin viewing student course requests within the web version of Parent Portal on Monday, March 11. Families using the mobile app will not be able to complete these steps. The deadline for families to approve student course requests is Friday, March 22.

Course selection information can be accessed by clicking the “Class Registration” icon on the left navigation bar in Parent Portal.

To verify student selections, families can click “View Course Requests” to display the information included in Screenshot 1 (below).

To approve course selections, families can check the box beside “Approve Schedule for Student” found in Screenshot 2 (below). There is no need to click submit once the box is selected. Schools can also manually check the submission box if families call the schools to approve course selections verbally when schools return after March Break.

If families do not support courses that were uploaded to Xello or students needs to request a course change, they will need to connect with their guidance counsellor to make changes after March Break.

Click “View Course Requests” (highlighted) to display the following information and verify student selections.

To approve selections, families can check the box beside “Approve Schedule for Student”.

Summer School Registration

Summer School course options will not be displayed in the Parent Portal. Please see below for Summer School information that can be found on the “Class Registration” page in Parent Portal:

Please see below for your student’s requests for the 2024-25 school year. For students who selected Summer School courses, a separate communication will be sent later in March where they will be asked to confirm that registration. Summer School courses will not be displayed here.

By clicking the link for “View Course Requests”, you can approve your student’s course requests for the 2024-25 school year by checking the box labelled “Approve Options for Student?” underneath the course options. Any questions or course request changes will need to be communicated to your student’s guidance counsellor. Please contact your school office for further assistance.
