ArcelorMittel Dofasco and HWDSB share a commitment to the economic growth of our community through the development of 21st century skills. AMD is a contributing community member that supports student achievement, engagement and learning opportunities through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Their primary contributions support advanced manufacturing in the form of Robotics and Coding programs through FIRST, Lego and Vex Robotics. This affords opportunities for schools to integrate robotics into classroom programs, extra-curricular activities, and competitions.
AMD provides opportunities to enhance advanced manufacturing by supporting the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) training, assessment and certification system. This places job-ready training directly into classrooms to support future-ready graduates with industry standard teaching/materials. AMD supports community outreach through HWDSB information and learning sessions. Their involvement provides knowledge and awareness to parents/guardians, students and staff. They are a valuable partner and advocate of STEM within the community.
