As summer arrives, we want to ensure a welcoming and smooth process for families registering new students for September 2024. Families are encouraged to use the online registration process linked above.
Walk-ins will be referred to the online registration or the scheduled in-person registration dates below. Assistance in completing the form is available if requested.

In-Person Dates for Summer Registration

Summer Office Hours
Elementary school offices are closed for the summer. They will reopen on Monday, August 26. We apologize that we are unable to respond to any messages until elementary school offices reopen.
Secondary school offices are open, and families can contact these offices for summer hours.
The HWDSB Welcome Centre is open this summer to support students and families with their transition to Hamilton as students begin their new school experience at HWDSB. The Welcome Centre is at Hill Park Learning Centre and staff can be contacted at 905-521-2554.
If you have questions about registering your child or need assistance over the summer, please contact the HWDSB Education Centre. The Board office remains open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. over July and August. Contact the Education Centre by phone at 905-527-5092 or email at:

2024-25 School Year Start-Up
On Monday, August 26, a SchoolMessenger email will be sent to all HWDSB families to inform them that Parent Portal is officially open for the start of the new school year.
At that time, families can view their child’s classroom teacher for elementary and student timetables for secondary. All HWDSB school offices will be open on this date to support questions.
Kindergarten families will receive an email once their Parent Portal account is created. Families will also receive information about when their child will attend their first day of Kindergarten.
Students with disabilities, along with their families, have a chance to transition into their new school before the first day. Families of students who access additional supports can contact their school during the week of August 26 to arrange a brief visit to their school and classroom.
We hope you have a safe and happy summer! HWDSB staff look forward to welcoming students and families back for the first day of the 2024-25 school year on Tuesday, September 3.
