In February 2023, Glendale was recognized as the first Language Friendly Secondary School (LFS) in North America. An LFS is a school where all languages spoken by students, parents and staff are welcomed and valued. HWDSB recognizes that multiculturalism is an asset in our schools, and we embrace the many diverse cultures in Hamilton by giving spaces to these languages within our schools and the community. At the all-day conference, educators will have the chance to dive into the dynamic world of inclusive and equitable education through informative workshops, engaging discussions, exclusive networking opportunities, and a keynote address by Professor, Educator and Researcher Jim Cummins.
