How HWDSB Schools Embraced Mental Health Week

Using puzzles, colouring, quiz games and more, schools across HWDSB embraced Mental Health Week and Education Week (May 7-11) with a wide array of activities.

For example, during lunch periods at Sir Allan MacNab school announcements on the school website and in the hallways promoted ways to maintain well-being. Special activities includes a button-making activity led by art students; Zumba lessons; banner creation; and more connections to the school’s Arts Week.

At Ancaster High, the week featured We Help campaign posters throughout the school; Zumba lessons; mindfulness; conversation; Random Acts of Kindness sticky notes and posters; calming colouring; an exploration of consent; therapy dogs and much more.

Many schools highlighted the HWDSB positive culture initiative We Help, which strives to build a culture in which students can seek help and offer help to others without stigma. Learn more about this initiative on our We Help web page.

Enjoy a collection of photos to capture the week.
