HWDSB strives to meet the needs of adults in the community with high-quality and varied program options throughout Hamilton.
Adult learners may have a variety of goals: achieving a post-secondary pathway, earning high school credits, improving literacy and numeracy skills, academic upgrading, learning English as a Second Language, and more.

Adult English as a Second Language
- New term began February 6 with continuous enrollment
- Day and evening classes

Literacy and Basic Skills
- Program for adults with continuous enrollment
- Essential Skills for students with Developmental Disabilities
- Academic Upgrading for students who require support in Literacy and/or Math to prepare for credit granting courses
- Cornerstone programs including Basic Computer Skills, Preparation for G1 Drivers Test, Preparation for Food Handlers Exam

Adult Day School
- New session beginning March 2
- Earn two credits in six weeks
- Co-op option available if you are working

Adult On-Line Night School
- Continuous enrollment
- Self-paced learning – Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses available
- Tutoring support on Tuesday and Thursday evenings

Mature PLAR
- Obtain credits for prior learning of knowledge and skills acquired in both formal and informal ways, outside of secondary school
