Adelaide Students Learn About Trades, Courses and Futures During Mohawk College Visit

A team of grades 5 and 6 students at Adelaide Hoodless explored learning and life recently as they traveled to Mohawk College’s Stoney Creek campus to learn about high school, college and what lies beyond.

The visit, part of the All About Me initiative in which students explore programs and pathways, included Delta secondary teachers who helped explain the transition to high school and its course options.

Students learned about teamwork as they each built a wooden bird feeder with hand tools. They also thought deeply about the world of work.

Some learned that they wanted a career in construction; others decided it wasn’t for them. Some were amazed they could make something with their hands; others appreciated the value of making mistakes while learning. Enjoy this video the students made to thank Mohawk College and Home Depot for making the visit possible.
