Safe Schools Review Panel calls on community members to attend panel sessions

On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Safe Schools: Bullying Prevention and Intervention Review Panel called on community members to attend Review Panel sessions in an ad featured in the Hamilton Spectator. The ad informs community members that their voices can make a difference at the five general and ten focused public panels.

The Review Panel was first launched and session dates were released on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.

It is of the highest importance that members of HWDSB communities attend these panels to share their stories and thoughts on the challenges of bullying so that we we may continue to build safe and accepting environments for students in HWDSB schools.

Dr. Jean Clinton, Brenda Flaherty and Gary Warner will be the three panelists leading the Review Panel, all of whom have expertise ranging from mental health and special education to social justice, equity and violence prevention. They will use the information gathered from communities to provide recommendations about bullying prevention, intervention, reporting and responding to HWDSB.

Please let the Review Panel know if you can attend by registering on Eventbrite here: bit.ly/safeschoolsreview

You can also follow the Safe Schools Review Panel on Twitter @SafeSchoolsRP and Facebook @SafeSchoolsReviewPanel to get the latest updates.
