Pathways Night Draws Crowd of 650 to Education Centre
HWDSB’s Pathways Information Night was a huge success on October 14, drawing a crowd of about 650 pre-registered visitors interested in exciting high school programs.
A wide variety of programs and options were included in the night, with visual displays, handouts and a student panel speaking about what’s possible in HWDSB secondary schools.
A line-up formed outside the Education Centre as parents and students in grades 7 to 10 arrived, to learn about specialized programs, experiential learning and more ways to earn a diploma while discovering a pathway for life.
The goal was to spark discussions about planning for education, careers and life in general among students and families. HWDSB staff also made it clear that the board values all five post-secondary destinations: apprenticeship, college, community living, university and the workplace.
