HWDSB Welcomes New Superintendent of Student Achievement
Congratulations to Adnan Shahbaz who joins the Senior Team at HWDSB as Superintendent of Student Achievement for Family of Schools 2.
Adnan comes to HWDSB from Upper Grand District School Board where he is the System Principal of Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion. Adnan began his educational career in Peel District School Board and worked as a classroom teacher, Special Education teacher, Instructional Coach and Administrator.
“I am pleased to welcome Adnan Shahbaz to Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) as Superintendent of Student Achievement,” said Sheryl Robinson Petrazzini, Director of Education. “As an anti-oppressive educational leader, Adnan’s lived and professional experience has prepared him for the Superintendent role. He has implemented anti-racist/equity initiatives that advance equitable outcomes for staff, students, and communities. Adnan is committed to building upon the success of HWDSB to move towards a path of reconciliation.”
Adnan starts his role as a HWDSB Superintendent of Student Achievement effective December 12, 2022.
