HWDSB Honours 185 Retirees at Reception Event
HWDSB was proud to present the 2015 Retirement Reception on Nov. 30 for the 185 retirees marking a new beginning after their service to the Board.
Board Chair Todd White and Director of Education Manny Figueiredo both said that they hoped the night’s honour demonstrates the appreciation the Board has for all of the work the departing staff have done in the service of students.
The dinner event at Michaelangelo Banquet Centre included entertainment from the Prince of Wales Elementary School Native as a Second Language (NSL) Singers. Tandia (formerly Teachers Credit Union) sponsored the annual event.
Retirees received a glass art award that some compared to a tear drop. It was crafted by local glass artist Kelly Lowe, a Hamilton artist with more than 17 years of glass-blowing experience.
