Share Your Voice on Projects That Matter at Engage HWDSB

engage hwdsb with link to platform engagehwdsb.caHamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) has launched a new and interactive platform to deliver on its commitment to community participation, collaboration, and involvement in support of student success and well-being.

Engage HWDSB is an online space where students, families, staff, and communities can learn more about work at HWDSB, share their voice, and follow processes as they happen.

Registering at engagehwdsb.ca is quick and easy, and only requires a few pieces of information. To set up an account, new users are asked to create a username and password, and also provide an email. Registering is safe and secure, and new users only need to sign up one time to provide feedback on all current and future projects.

Visitors to Engage HWDSB will see an expanding list of projects, policy consultations, and initiatives in the weeks ahead. Currently, there are four projects open for review and feedback. Click the following project titles to explore their unique pages:

  • What Brings You Joy?
    • Director of Education Sheryl Robinson Petrazzini invites Engage HWDSB users to tell some stories about our children, our families, and other things that bring joy. Read the Director’s submission, and add one of your own!
  • Naming of Schools Policy Review
    • A school’s name represents where we live, the people who make up our community, the values we want to teach our children, and the vision for HWDSB. Today, we invite you to share your thoughts on a policy that directs how we decide on names for schools.
  • Whistleblower Policy
    • HWDSB is working to develop a Whistleblower Policy and Procedure. We know coming forward can feel unsafe and uncertain. This work is meant to encourage and support the community to come forward to report wrongdoing.
  • Bullying Prevention & Intervention Policy – Public Consultation
    • Many voices have joined the conversation and provided feedback on the DRAFT Bullying Prevention and Intervention Policy. We are compelled to do our part to help create school communities across HWDSB that are safe for everyone.

Engage HWDSB is an online space for us to get to know each other better. It is a place to share ideas. To ask questions. To provide information and updates. To keep track of where we have been, and chart out where we may go.

The platform will not replace in-person engagement opportunities but will serve as a central, digital forum for information and online feedback on important projects, policies and decisions.

At HWDSB, we strive for open and inclusive processes that value input and participation from our communities. Please visit Engage HWDSB, register, and add your voice to the conversations. This is a place where we can come together on what we all care about most – students, families and schools.

Director of Education Sheryl Robinson Petrazzini

Engage HWDSB is built on EngagementHQ, a service used by public institutions around the world to facilitate, centralize, and analyze two-way conversations between organizations and communities.
