Chair’s Statement on the Province’s Vaccination Plan for Education:

We welcome today’s announcement that the Ministry of Education plans to introduce a vaccination disclosure and testing policy for staff in Ontario schools and licenced child care settings.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and regular rapid testing of unvaccinated education workers are additional layers of protection in our schools and workplaces.

This news comes as staff plan the return to in-person learning during the pandemic’s fourth wave. Families want to know that our schools are safe, especially for students who are too young or unable to be vaccinated.

We are expecting further details in the finalized policy. We will communicate with families and staff as we receive more information.
