2024 Winter Break: A Message from HWDSB’s Chair of the Board of Trustees and Director of Education
Dear HWDSB Community,
As the year draws to a close, we extend our warmest wishes to each of you for a restful and joyful Winter Break. This is a time to reflect on the months behind us, celebrate our shared achievements, and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.
In HWDSB’s learning and workspaces across our community, we are guided by the values of dignity, compassion, trust, and joy. These principles are the foundation of our work and the relationships we nurture with students, families, staff, and community partners.
Together, we strive to ensure every member of our school community is seen, respected, and valued.
This year, we continued to deepen our ongoing commitment to Human Rights, Indigenous Education, and equity for all. By fostering inclusive environments where everyone can thrive, we continue to build schools, learning and workspaces that reflect the strength and diversity of the communities we are proud to serve. We are committed to ensuring every student experiences a deep sense of belonging in spaces that affirm their identities and honour their lived experiences.
We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of families, the dedication of HWDSB’s staff, and commitment from community. Your partnership and care enable us to do this very important work.
As we pause for the Winter Break, let us embrace moments of rest, connection, and joy with those we hold dear.
