Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) was made aware of a potential bomb threat at Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School shortly after school opened today on Thursday, September 21. Hamilton Police Service was immediately contacted and is at the school. Students and staff have been evacuated to Ray Lewis Elementary School. Students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. due to the ongoing investigation. Starting at 1 p.m., school staff will begin the normal dismissal process from the Ray Lewis site. Students are able to walk home, be picked up, or use Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) transportation. Buses from Hamilton-Wentworth Student Transportation Services (HWSTS) will arrive at Ray Lewis at regular dismissal time. Students in self-contained classrooms will remain at the Ray Lewis site while transportation is arranged. If students in self-contained have alternate ways to return home, they can be arranged by families. We will send families another communication later today with update before tomorrow's school day. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
