Chair’s Statement on Israel and Palestine

Dear HWDSB students, staff and families,

At HWDSB, we stand against violence, discrimination, hate or prejudice in any form.

HWDSB’s ongoing commitment to human rights, equity and justice remains unchanged, particularly in the wake of the horrific terrorist attacks and ensuing violence.

It is imperative that HWDSB’s official position is clear, and you can read more about it by clicking here.

The weekend’s events in Israel and Palestine are extremely devastating, especially for those students, staff and families affected by the violence in that region.

Now more than ever, it is important to stress that HWDSB schools and workplaces are welcoming and inclusive spaces free from hate and discrimination – for all students, staff and families.

In hopes of peace for all,

Dawn Danko
Chair of the Board – HWDSB
