Board Improvement Check-In

As we commence the 2024-25 school year, we are excited to continue building on the work we have done with the Multi-Year Strategic Plan and Board Improvement Plan, which we launched in January 2024.

Now, with the new school year just beginning, we are eager to engage with you about the work ahead. As we implement strategies to meet our goals and advance our mission, we want to hear your valuable feedback on what we are doing and how we are doing it. Your insights are crucial as we work together to ensure the success of students. Please take a moment to share your thoughts on the following areas:

  • How well we are meeting your expectations.
  • Areas of focus for the upcoming school year.
  • Opportunities for improvement.
  • Potential challenges we have overlooked.
  • Suggestions for better community engagement.

Code of Conduct Procedures Consultation

HWDSB is updating various policies and procedures after changes to the Ministry of Education’s Provincial Code of Conduct were implemented in September 2024. Click here to read our 2024-25 Code of Conduct Updates post for details about expectations surrounding mobile devices, social media, vaping and more. We welcome your feedback on the following DRAFT policies and procedures found on the Engage HWDSB page:

  • Code of Conduct Policy
  • Responsible Use of Digital Technology Procedure
  • Personal Mobile Device (PMD) Procedure
  • Confiscation and Return of Personal Items Procedure
  • Smoke and Vape-Free Schools Procedure

Your contributions will assist HWDSB staff as these policies and procedures are made final in the coming weeks and months. We want to make sure students, staff, families and community members have a clear understanding of these new expectations. The deadline to provide feedback has been extended to October 4, 2024.
