Meetings of the Trustees – Trustees meet on a regular basis at public meetings.  Agenda items will include education and community-based issues of importance to the Board.

The online Board Meeting link is posted to the homepage of the HWDSB website on the afternoon of the meeting date.

The Board of Trustees welcomes public observation of its meetings. To provide a safe and comfortable experience for all involved, we ask any visitors coming to the Education Centre after 4:30 p.m. to utilize the sign-in and sign-out binder located in the front lobby.

There may be times when the seating capacity inside the boardroom gallery is full. Should this happen, the screen in the lobby will play the meeting and observers can utilize the overflow seating on the main floor for viewing purposes.

HWDSB does not permit any signage to be displayed inside the boardroom or dedicated overflow space. Similarly, oversized bags are a safety concern and should not be brought to meetings. If necessary, staff can assist in storing the bag for the duration of the meeting.

At HWDSB, we value compassion, dignity, trust and joy, and ask that members of the public attending meetings do the same.  Warnings will be issued for any interruptions or disturbances that interfere with Board of Trustees meeting business. If issues persist, individuals or groups may be asked to leave the meeting.

The Board of Trustees welcomes feedback, and members of the public can request delegate status to present information to the Trustees. The Board of Trustees may also receive correspondence that fall within their mandate – learn more about the protocol used when correspondence is received.
