Together We Grow, Together We Thrive: A Joyful Year at HWDSB
As we reach the final day of the 2024-25 school year, I want to take a moment to extend my deepest thanks to the entire HWDSB community.
To HWDSB students—congratulations on another year of growth, learning, and achievement. To those who have completed their K-12 education and are moving on from HWDSB, we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished. Whether your next step is into the workforce, college, an apprenticeship, or university, know that you carry with you the skills, knowledge, and experiences to thrive. We celebrate each of your unique pathways and look forward to seeing where your journeys lead.
To parents, caregivers, and families—thank you for your ongoing partnership, trust, and care. Your support plays a vital role in the success and well-being of your children, and we are grateful for the ways you work alongside us to ensure every student is known, supported, and encouraged to believe in their excellence and build their own future.
Throughout this year, HWDSB staff has continued to implement our Multi-Year Strategic Plan Priorities and the goals of HWDSB’s Board Improvement Plan. Together, we’ve made meaningful strides to strengthen literacy and numeracy, support student well-being, and prepare young people for a future that reflects their hopes, dreams and aspirations.
Whether inside the classroom or out, HWDSB staff members have brought our values—dignity, trust, compassion, and joy—to life. Staff have shown that these aren’t just words. They are commitments, expressed daily through the care, dedication, and expertise they have shown across HWDSB.
To HWDSB staff who will be learning this summer through various programs-thank you for the ways you will lead, inspire and care for our students. To staff whose work continues throughout the summer – especially our dedicated caretaking team – thank you. Your efforts ensure we’re ready to welcome students back on September 2, 2025, and your contributions are deeply appreciated.
As we look ahead to the summer months, I hope everyone in our HWDSB community finds time to rest, reflect, and recharge.
