The new Ancaster school on the C.H. Bray site will accommodate 495 students and will include a new child care centre with 49 spaces to support families.

“The new Spring Valley Elementary School will be a major upgrade for elementary education in Ancaster,” said Donna Skelly, MPP for Flamborough – Glanbrook. “This project provides a safe, quality learning environment that will support the evolving demands on our students and education system at large”

“From modernizing our curriculum to revitalizing our classrooms and their facilities, we are investing in our students and giving them every tool to achieve their full potential. Our financing of the new Spring Valley Elementary School demonstrates our government’s historic investment in capital projects and our overall commitment to supporting public education in Ontario”, said Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce.

Spring Valley, estimated to open in 2020-21, will be a $12.25 million Kindergarten to Grade 8 elementary school.

“We are thrilled to receive approval to go to tender on the new Spring Valley Elementary School in Ancaster,” said Alex Johnstone, HWDSB Board Chair. “We thank the Ministry of Education for its continued support as we build new and revitalized schools where students can learn and grow to their full potential.”
