French Immersion Application Process for Senior Kindergarten Students
French Immersion is a proven way of acquiring excellent language skills in French. The French Immersion program at HWDSB is specifically designed for parents who do not speak French, but want their children to speak both official languages. The program is open to HWDSB students starting in Grade 1.
Families of Senior Kindergarten students considering the French Immersion program are invited to an upcoming virtual information session ahead of the 2023-24 application process:

HWDSB uses an application process for entry into French Immersion. To be eligible, your child must have been born in 2017. Our registration process is done online through our website linked below. The page includes all the important dates for registration and more information about the process. The registration process for Senior Kindergarten students opens Monday, November 28, 2022 at 9 a.m. and will be further discussed at the information session.

We guarantee an offer of placement in the program (not a specific school) for applications received by the 9 a.m. deadline on Monday, January 23, 2023.
