Passing of former HWDSB Trustee Judith Bishop
Dear HWDSB Community,
It is with deep empathy and care that I share the news of the passing of former HWDSB Trustee Judith Bishop. In recognition of her many years of dedicated service to public education and to the City of Hamilton, flags at all HWDSB buildings will be flown at half-mast until the end of day Monday, December 8, 2025.
Judith served on our Board of Trustees with commitment and pride for 26 years. She was first elected in 1988 and retired in November 2014. Her advocacy for students, families, and school communities—particularly across Wards 1 & 2—helped shape HWDSB in meaningful and lasting ways.
Our thoughts are with Judith’s family, friends, and all who were impacted by her work and her service.
