Maria Felix Miller & Paul Tut Re-Elected as Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s Chair and Vice-Chair for 2025-2026
HAMILTON, ONT. (November 17, 2025) – At the Organizational Board meeting on Monday, November 17, 2024, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) Trustees re-elected Maria Felix Miller Ward 3 Trustee as Chair of the Board, and Paul Tut, Ward 13 Trustee as Vice-Chair of the Board.
“I am deeply honoured to be re-elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees for a third term,” said Maria Felix Miller, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “I am really proud of the progress we’ve made in advancing the Multi-Year Strategic Plan i” added Felix Miller. “As Chair, I look forward to continuing our collective efforts to strengthen academic outcomes for all HWDSB students in learning environments that are safe, inclusive, and welcoming. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to continue this work in service of students, staff, and families across HWDSB.”
Also serving in his third term as Vice-Chair, Paul Tut remarked, “I am grateful for the opportunity to once again serve as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees. I remain deeply committed to supporting the students and families of HWDSB in a way that is both inclusive and collaborative.” In continued reflection, Vice-Chair Tut added, “Together with my fellow HWDSB Trustees, I look forward to ensuring that students have access to high-quality public education in classrooms and learning environments that foster belonging, curiosity and success. It is an honour to once again serve the HWDSB community.”

During the meeting, Trustees elected their colleagues to the following Trustee Special Committee positions:
- Chair of Policy Committee – Sabreina Dahab, Ward 2 Trustee
- Chair of Program Committee – Amanda Fehrman, Ward 11 & 12 Trustee
- Chair of Finance and Facilities Committee – Paul Tut, Vice Chair and Ward 13 Trustee
- Chair of the Human Resources Committee – Dawn Danko, Ward 7 Trustee
The chair of the Governance Committee will be elected at the next meeting of the Committee on December 1, 2025.
