Winter Break Message to HWDSB Families

Dear Families, "On behalf of Trustees, Executive Council and everyone at HWDSB, we extend our warmest wishes for a joyful winter break. All the best to you and your family in 2024.." Maria Felix Miller and Sheryl Robinson Petrazzini

We are pleased to share holiday greetings with our HWDSB communities.

In 2023, we experienced many meaningful moments throughout the school year that provided a deep sense of community, and supported belonging and achievement.

We encourage you to read a compilation of stories, accomplishments, and progress in the 2022-23 Director’s Annual Report to the Community.

In the new year, we will officially launch  the new Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) which charts a new course for HWDSB students, staff and families from 2023 – 2028. We are excited to see the ways our new guiding values of Compassion, Dignity, Trust and Joy are displayed throughout HWDSB schools.

Winter Break is a time to pause and recharge and take care of ourselves and those in our communities. Please stay connected with all health recommendations from Hamilton Public Health Services through their updates to help promote healthy practices.

We also know the holidays may be difficult for some and we encourage you to focus on your well-being. This is especially important this year, where international conflicts continue to impact people around the world. Learn more about services and support through We Help resources.

We are also pleased to share a holiday greeting video from Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, who sends his appreciation to students, families and staff.

Thank you for your participation in your child (ren)’s education and for collaborating with HWDSB staff. Amid all that we have accomplished, shared, and experienced together, our hope is that as another year comes to a close, we all look back and say, “We are proud to be HWDSB!”

Happy Holidays!

Maria Felix Miller, Chair of the Board
Sheryl Robinson Petrazzini, Director of Education
