Trustee Code of Conduct

Textsize
A+ A-

All publicly funded school boards in Ontario are governed by boards of trustees. Trustees are representatives of the public and communities’ advocate for public education.  As education leaders, trustees are expected to act with integrity and adhere to high ethical standards. Codes of conduct set out guiding principles, rules of conduct and ethical behaviour that all trustees agree to uphold.

Ontario Regulation 312/24 Members of School Boards – Code of Conduct sets out certain mandatory provisions for a code of conduct. A Board’s code of conduct may contain additional provisions if the provisions do not conflict with any of the required provisions set out in the new Regulation.
