Board Chair Dawn Danko’s Statement on Ontario vaccine rollout

Ontario has announced details of its plans to vaccinate up to 8.5 million people in Phase Two of the vaccine rollout.

The following is a statement about these new details on vaccination plans, from HWDSB Board Chair Dawn Danko:

We are thrilled by Ontario’s announcement that education workers are among the frontline essential workers who could receive a vaccination as early as March 2021.

The light at the end of this pandemic’s tunnel has just become a little brighter.

We know that a mass vaccination campaign is no easy task, but Phase One’s vaccination of about 1.5 million Ontarians is well underway.

We’re inspired by the patience our community has demonstrated as we hear Phase 2 groups may be vaccinated by July 2021, with the general population to follow.
