Final Call for Partners in HWDSB’s Bold Renewal of Downtown School into a Community Hub

With a submission to the Ministry of Education for a new elementary school at the Sir John A. Macdonald site on September 8, 2017 and a December deadline for planning a community Hub, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) is looking for more service or program providers who have access to capital funds by September 30, 2017. Interested providers are encouraged to visit www.hwdsb.on.ca/communityhub and fill out the Potential Partner Interest form.

“We are looking for partners who can provide accessible programs and services that will promote the health and well-being of our students, families and area residents,” said HWDSB Chair, Todd White.

HWDSB is proposing to work with community partners to create one central location on the Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School site that will provide a new elementary school, as well as a range of programs and services, meeting the unique needs of the community.

“We believe that cooperative and collaborative relationships between our Board and community partners are the foundation for a strong, vibrant and revitalized downtown development,” continued Chair White.

Community consultation will be taking place in October, where families, residents, businesses, and interested partners can offer their input into what potential programs and services are needed within the community.
