Community and Continuing Education is pleased to offer a variety of summer programs for students in grades 6 to 10.  Registration for Summer 2018 is officially closed (as of June 1st) but there are a few spaces available in some programs.  Please take a few minutes to look at the program pages to see what your child might be interested in participating in!

Basketball & Literacy

This program is closed to further registrations.

An exciting learning experience for students in grades 6-10 who enjoy basketball and would benefit from support in Literacy or Numeracy.  Offered multiple weeks at sites around Hamilton.

Floorball Literacy

This program is closed to further registrations.

Learn how to play floorball while getting Literacy support.  This program is held at Sherwood Secondary School and students can enroll in either just one, or both weeks of the program. For students currently in Grades 6 to 10.

Soccer & Literacy

This program is closed to further registrations.

Learn how to play soccer while getting Literacy support.  This program is held at Janet Lee School. For students currently in Grades 6 to 10.

Learn how to play volleyball while getting Numeracy support.  This program is held at Sherwood Secondary School. For students currently in Grades 6 to 10.

Work with the Rotary Summer Camp program to develop your Leadership and Literacy skills and earn volunteer hours required to graduate.  For students currently in Grades 7 to 10.

Summer ESL Literacy

This program is closed to further registrations.

ESL students in grades 6 to 12 (ESL level below ESLCO/Level 3) will benefit from Literacy Supports embedded in a fun and interactive program.  Registration for this program is available through Elementary Principals and ESL Teachers or Secondary Guidance and ESL Teachers.

Grade 9 Orientation Program

Accepting registrations at Saltfleet, Sir Allan MacNab and Nora F. Henderson locations ONLY until June 25th.  All other programs are closed to enrolment.
The NEW Grade 9 Orientation Program is offered at Secondary Schools across HWDSB to support current Grade 8 students transitioning into their Secondary School.  This program will not only introduce students to their new teachers, classmates and school but will help them with math & literacy skills, educational tools (like d2L and Office 365), learning strategies and time management for success in High School.

International Languages Elementary Summer Program

Accepting registrations

Students pre-registered in Junior Kindergarten to currently in Grade 8 are eligible to participate in our Summer Elementary International Languages program.  Programs are offered at various sites across HWDSB.  Students have an opportunity to learn the language of their heritage or to learn an international language that is of interest to them.
