During the COVID19 closure we will continue to deliver programs on-line with teacher support during the school day.

We offer Adult Day School Programs that will help you upgrade a mark, obtain credits for College or University or to complete your High School Diploma.  These program are offered to Adult Learners, ages 18 and older who are not registered with a Secondary School. The Adult Day School program provides a structured and disciplined learning environment, using the Ontario Secondary School curriculum.  Adult Credit courses are offered during the day only. All credit courses are 110 hours of study as per Ministry of Education guidelines.

ADULT DAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS:

About the School Day

School Day: Adult Day School Courses are offered in 35 day sessions on a full or part time basis. Students take one course in the morning (8:30 am-11:45 pm) and/or afternoon (12:15-3:30 pm). Classes are teacher facilitated. Workplace, College and University (at Hill Park only) level courses are available.

Courses Offered by Location

Courses Offered:     Hill Park Learning Centre – Adult Day School Courses 2019-20            City Learning Centre – Adult Day School Courses 2019-20

For many students, after Assessment, just two to four sessions of Adult Day School (4 – 8 senior credits) will fulfill the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).  Adults who require an additional credit to graduate, have the option to participate in our D2L Hybrid Night School Program.

Specialized Programs - Advantage - FastTrack

Advantage Program: Offers recent immigrants (English Language Learners) between the ages of 19-24 the opportunity to complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

FASTtrack Program: Designed for adult learners, 18 to 21 years of age and out of school, interested in developing computer skills, upgrading their academic skills, and completing their secondary education.

FASTtrack provides the opportunity for students who’ve recently left High School with minimal credits to achieve a number of High School Credits through the Mature PLAR* process.  At the conclusion of the program, students will have a credit total of at least 17 and can have as many as 20 or more.  For many students, successful completion of FASTtrack will leave only a small number of credits to be achieved in order to fulfill the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

This program provides a structured learning environment.  Credit courses are offered during the day and operate in five (5) sessions of six (6) weeks.

Students complete one credit per session and spend the balance of the school day building the skills required to successfully complete their PLAR tests, receiving extra support on their course materials or completing a second credit using Independent Study course materials.
