Continuing Education is pleased to offer a variety of summer programs for students in grades 6 to 10.  Registration for Summer 2019 Programs is now available.  Please take a few minutes to look at the program pages to see what your child might be interested in participating in!

Please see our “Register with CE” page for student registration requirements if your student does not currently attend an HWDSB school.

Art and Coding Camps

Learn computer programming and game design skills in a fun way or explore the arts and realize the real-life connections to Literacy and Math through fun camp activities. CLOSED TO REGISTRATION

Basketball & Literacy

An exciting learning experience for students in grades 6-10 who enjoy basketball and would benefit from support in Literacy or Numeracy.  Offered multiple weeks at sites around Hamilton. CLOSED TO REGISTRATION

Floorball Literacy

Learn how to play floorball while getting Literacy support.  This program is held at Sherwood Secondary School and students can enroll in either just one, or both weeks of the program. For students currently in Grades 6 to 10. CLOSED TO REGISTRATION

Soccer & Literacy

Learn how to play soccer while getting Literacy support.  This program is held at Janet Lee School. For students currently in Grades 6 to 10. CLOSED TO REGISTRATION

Leaders in Action and Literacy

These engaging two week programs for students currently in grades 6-10 provide the opportunity for participants to improve their literacy skills and mentoring skills as they work as student leaders with a community based camp program.  CLOSED TO REGISTRATION

Summer ESL Literacy

ESL students in grades 6 to 12 (ESL level below ESLCO/Level 3) will benefit from Literacy Supports embedded in a fun and interactive program.  Registration for this program is available through Elementary Principals and ESL Teachers or Secondary Guidance and ESL Teachers.

Grade 9 Orientation Program

The NEW Grade 9 Orientation Program is offered at Secondary Schools across HWDSB to support current Grade 8 students transitioning into their Secondary School.  This program will not only introduce students to their new teachers, classmates and school but will help them with math & literacy skills, educational tools (like d2L and Office 365), learning strategies and time management for success in High School.

International Languages Elementary Summer Program

Students pre-registered in Junior Kindergarten to currently in Grade 8 are eligible to participate in our Summer Elementary International Languages program.  Programs are offered at various sites across HWDSB.  Students have an opportunity to learn the language of their heritage or to learn an international language that is of interest to them.
