Welcome to Saltfleet!

Semester 2 starts on Friday February 3rd!

Principal’s Message

Hello Saltfleet Community,

Go Storm Go!  Welcome back to another fantastic year at Saltfleet District High School! My name is Kevin Graham and I continue to be your proud Principal at Saltfleet District High School.  I hope that you have taken the time to relax, unwind and spend time with family and friends during the summer – you certainly deserve it!

I am very fortunate to be working alongside two amazing Vice Principals – Mr. Barr and Ms. Sgambato.  We know that your success – helping you stay on track with credit accumulation – is directly connected to you becoming a high school graduate.  Working with our amazing staff, we all want you to graduate and have many opportunities!

Please make note that picture day is on September 14.  This is also where you’ll receive your student card.

Ms. Miller, Ms. Prica and Ms. Brown have been working hard for the start of our new Graduated Support Program!  This will be taught in Room 2069/2070 directly across from the elevator on the second floor.  Please pop by to say hi and meet our new students!

All of our Grade 9s will be back to Saltfleet for our Storm Link Day on August 31st for the orientation and BBQ – an exciting opportunity as our students prepare for the start of the school year.  Welcome to our future class of 2020!

The environment we learn in is very important to all of us.  It is important for all students to feel safe and welcomed.  If you come across any issues, please make sure we are made aware so that you are given the best possible chances to succeed in school.  Throughout the year I would like to be challenged with new information and situations in order to push you, our students, and continue to showcase to the community and Board what a great place Saltfleet is!

Please know that I strive to continue to state how Saltfleet is an amazing place to be and hope that you will also jump on board to do so as well.  On behalf of Ms. Sgambato and Mr. Barr, we wish you a fantastic start to the school year.  The passion and pride we see within all of you is very infectious.  Please let us know how we can support you and your endeavours.  I look forward to seeing everyone again and hope to be able to help make Saltfleet the showcase secondary school that it is.

Saltfleet IS the place to be!

Watch: Elementary Students Experience a Learning Day in the Arts
Grades 7 and 8 students from Lake Avenue, Sir Wilfrid Laurier and W.H. Ballard visited the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts to do hands-on arts workshops with professional artists. Their inspiration was the Hamilton Children’s Charter of Rights, and they used four art forms (dance, drama, music and visual arts). The outing connected elementary students interested in the arts with schools offering a Specialist High Skills Majors in Arts and Culture.
