Grade 8 Information Nights

GRADE 8 COURSE SELECTIONS INFO NIGHT JAN 16!

Grade 8 students & parents/guardians are welcomed to Saltfleet for our Information nights on Grade 9.

Date: January 16th (course selection night)

Location: Saltfleet cafetorium

Time: 6:00 – 7:00 PM

Please have your student bring a charged device if they wish to do their option selection at this session.

Coming from SALTFLEET’S FEEDER SCHOOLS:

If you are coming from one of our feeder schools (Bellmoore, Billy Green, Gatestone, Janet Lee, Mount Albion, Michaelle Jean, Tapleytown, Shannon Koostachin), please note that Guidance Counsellors will be visiting your school in January to assist with the course selection process.  myBluePrint will be open for selection between January 16th  – February 21st.    Ensure that your parent/guardian has approved your course selections for grade 9.

Coming from a NON-FEEDER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:

If your child is enrolled in a non-feeder elementary school, and you are moving in our catchment area and wish to attend Saltfleet, please complete “Student Registration Form,”  “Grade 9 Option Selection Worksheet 2025,” and contact Student Services to review the registration process.  905-573-3000 X4388.

Summer Reach Ahead Course Registration

The Summer Reach Ahead programs provide an opportunity for students to take their compulsory Civics and Careers or specific Technological Education (credit) courses in the summer before they start Grade 9.  

Civics and Careers courses are offered on-line using “the HUB”.  Teachers will book on-line “Office Hours” one hour each day on MS Teams.  These half credit courses are equivalent to 55 hours of in-class time each.

The COURSE SELECTION is open in “myBluePrint” from January 7th to February 21st , 2025 and again from April 1 until 9 a.m. on June 9, 2025.

Volunteer Hours:

You are eligible to complete your 40 volunteer hours during the summer before grade 9, starting July 1st! It is recommended to get your hours done as soon as possible. Check out our volunteer page for a list of opportunities!

Grade 9 August Orientation and BBQ 2025

Date and time TBD

Meet your Storm Link leader who will be there to answer any questions and ensure you are excited about becoming a Saltfleet Storm!

Participate in fun activities that will help you become familiar with: your classrooms, locker, students and teachers, school layout, school clubs and sports teams.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.  This is a student only event.  (Parents/guardians can drop off)

*Students are responsible for their own transportation*

You will be automatically registered for the Orientation session if you completed a Saltfleet option sheet.

Lots of helpful information will be provided for a great start to the year!
