We are currently accepting applications from youth participants until May 21st, 2021.

The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange provides so many opportunities for students to:

• Be immersed in a second official language in a different community in Canada
• Work for a non-profit organization at a paid summer job
• Live with a host family
• Participate in cultural activities on the weekends that are led by a YMCA Local Coordinator

Planning for a 2021 summer exchange is underway but it will look a little different this year. We are following local and national health authority recommendations and guidelines related to COVID-19 as we plan our protocols and safety measures for the exchange.  If inter-regional travel is not possible we will be offering an alternate program that still includes paid-work, language learning and professional development opportunities while youth remain in their home communities.
