Saltfleet Bomb Threat DRILL – April 7th

Announcement to the Saltfleet Community regarding upcoming Bomb Threat Drill:

This Wednesday April 7, we will be practicing this year’s bomb threat drill during our morning class. This procedure is followed in the event that a bomb threat is received, an explosive device is reported or discovered, or an explosives incident takes place. During a bomb threat, school staff will conduct a visual scan of their immediate areas for suspicious articles if a request is made to do so and report suspicious articles, if any, to the principal.

During this time, students are to remain in class and refrain from using cell phones. As always, students are also expected to follow the directions of their teachers. Standard procedures such as evacuating the school building will only be DISCUSSED AND EXPLAINED by teachers this year, in order to comply with current public health guidelines. Please remember that in any emergency or crisis event, priority is on the imminent threat, not enhanced public health measures.

Once again, in an effort to avoid creating any panic or anxiety, we will be having a bomb threat drill in the morning, on Wednesday April 7.

*As a reminder, during any secure school procedure, there is the potential that uniformed police will be in the building to inform and support best practices as they relate to the safety of the school community.
