Welding School Award
The CWA Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the 2018 award applications for Secondary school students entering into full-time Post-Secondary welding programs:
· CWA Foundation Secondary School Awards Program
· Joseph G. Doria Exemplary Student Award
The CWA Foundation Secondary School Awards Programwas founded in 2014 for the purposes of promoting and encouraging the pursuit of post-secondary education in welding. The awards are for students who show an aptitude and passion for the welding industry and/or financial need, and are applying to a certified welding program offered by a publically funded Canadian College or University.
Selected students will receive between $2000-2500 towards their tuition which will be paid upon proof of acceptance.
The application is now open all year round but funds are limited so apply as early as possible.

The Joseph G. Doria Exemplary Student Award is a National award established in 2013 to honour the leadership of Mr. Doria as Chairman of the CWB Group Board of Directors from 2009-2013 for the purposes of promoting and encouraging the pursuit of a career in Welding Engineering. Mr. Doria has been an active participant in the welding industry for over 42 years and is President and CEO of Lincoln Electric Company of Canada. This award will be given to a Canadian secondary student who shows exemplary academic excellence, a demonstrated passion for the welding industry, and community involvement, that is entering a full-time technician or technologist program in welding with a desire to pursue a career in the industry.
One recipient will be chosen annually and will be awarded the amount of $3,000.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 16th 2018 and the award winner will be notified by March 2nd, 2018.
