SUMMER CREDIT PROGRAMS
Summer School Online (Credit Program) Students in Grades 9-12 and Adults Online

A wide variety of full credit courses will be available through Summer School Online. Includes 1-hour of live, online teacher support daily.

Summer Credit Recovery Program  Current HWDSB Students
in Grades 9-12
with a final grade of less than 50% in an available credit recovery course
Online

HWDSB Continuing Education is offering a Credit Recovery opportunity for HWDSB students recommended by their home school. Credit Recovery is available to students who had a final grade of less than 50% during the 2024-2025 or the 2023-2024 school years in a Grade 9 or 10 compulsory course.  Students can recover one or two credits.

Session 1 runs July 2-14, 2025
Session 2 runs July 15-25, 2025

Ask your Guidance Office for the Credit Recovery Coordinator in June 2026.
Summer School Upgrade Program For students who have already earned the credit, and wish to improve their grade Online

Grade 12 courses offered:
–  ENG4U          –  MDM4U
–  MHF4U          –  SBI4U
–  MCV4U          –  SCH4U
Includes 1-hour of live, online teacher support daily.

Summer Co-op Grade 9-12 students In-person

This is a 2-credit program with mandatory in-person class on Thursday in May and June from 6-9 p.m. at Hill Park Learning Centre.  (May 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5 & 12, 2025)

Co-op Placements are in-person daily from July 2-Aug 1, 2025

Focus on Youth Students aged 16-21 as of July 2, 2025 In-person

Focus on Youth is a summer work program for HWDSB students.  Following a successful interview, students who are offered positions within the program are placed with a community-partnered organization for summer employment.

NEW FOR 2025!  Focus on Youth participants will receive 2 Co-op credits.

July 7-August 22, 2025

Summer Learning Strategies Courses Students in Grades 8-12
(with Individual Education Plans)
Online & in-person

Summer Learning Strategies program helps students become stronger, more independent learners. Students will learn how to develop and apply literacy and numeracy skills, personal management skills, and interpersonal and teamwork skills to narrow learning gaps and improve their learning and achievement in school, the workplace, and the community.

Please contact your student’s Principal or Guidance Counsellor to register.

SUMMER NON-CREDIT PROGRAMS
Summer ESL Literacy Program Students in Grades 6-12
(ESL Level 3/CO or lower)
In-person

ESL students in grades 6 to 12 are encouraged to join our ESL Literacy Summer program to strengthen their literacy skills this summer.  (Level 3/CO or lower).

Please contact your student’s Principal or ESL teacher to register.
