January 2025 Exam Schedule and Sem 2 Start up Memo

January 2025 Final Examination Period and Semester 2 Start-Up Information 

• During Quiet Days, students will be completing course work and completing culminating tasks.  

• Exams/Final Evaluations begin January 23.  

• Students are expected to be in their exam/final evaluation space at 8:00 am and the evaluation will begin at 8:15 am.  

• NO cell phones are allowed in the exam/final evaluation space.  

• Transportation to and from school will follow the same schedule.  

• There will be no cafeteria service.  

• All final examination activities will be a minimum of 75 minutes in duration and will occur in all classes. 

• Students may leave after their exams/final evaluations.  

• Any student who has an eLearning course should consult with their teacher regarding final evaluations. 

• If students have any resources to return to the Learning Commons or teachers, please do so by January 28th 

• Any students leaving Saltfleet at the end of Semester 1 are to return their laptop/iPad to the Learning Commons by January 28th.  

INCLEMENT WEATHER: If HWDSB schools are closed during exams, it will be announced by 6 am and posted on social media and HWDSB websites. The evaluation schedule would change by shifting the schedule forward to make up the day(s) missed (ie Monday’s exam will occur on Tuesday). 

 SEMESTER TWO 

• Semester 2 begins January 31 @ 8:00 am.  
•  Student timetables are available on Parent Portal. If you require assistance with parent portal login, please contact the main office.
• If students have been unsuccessful in a semester one course, they may need a timetable schedule change. Please book an appointment with their guidance counsellor during the exam week and into week one of Semester 2.  
• Please note that enrolment in eLearning for semester 2 is closed and there are limited spaces in face-to-face classes, so not all changes may be processed.  

COURSE SELECTION FOR 2025_2026 

• Course selection for next school year will begin February 5th and close February 21st on myBlueprint found here: HWDSB Students
• Information will be posted on the school website, and Guidance counsellors share information with your classroom teachers and are available for individual appointments.  
• Students interested in reaching ahead on a course through summer school can select that course right now through to January 29th in myBlueprint.
