Update on hydro situation

Dear Saltfleet students, families and community residents,

On May 21, 2022, a weather event caused a power outage that affected the transformer supplying power at Saltfleet District High School.

The power was restored by means of a temporary generator. This will be necessary until permanent repairs occur to ensure all building and life safety systems remain operational.

Repairs will continue beyond May 30, 2022, as originally shared. We now expect work to continue throughout June 2022, and to be completed this summer.

A replacement transformer is currently being sourced and will be installed once available.

Students, families and neighbouring homes can expect temporary noise and contractors at the school. The power supply to the school, while temporary, is stable.

We will share updates as they arise to keep you informed.
