Co-op (Work for Credit)

Work for Credit is a cooperative education experience allowing participant to earn elective or compulsory group 1, 2 or 3 credits through a structured job or training experience.

  • Earn up to 2 credits in a 6 week session through your current workplace or a work placement.
  • All course work is done online in a virtual classroom in the HWDSB HUB at https://students.hwdsb.on.ca/, which involves approximately 3 hours of course work per week
  • Over the 6 weeks there are 3 meetings students need to attend: registration, midterm and final. During Covid-19 these meetings will be done online.

2025-2026
Session 1 – September 8 to October 24, 2025 – FULL
Session 2 – October 30 to December 16, 2025 – Open for course selection on myBlueprint NOW – select DCO3O as course code
Session 3 – January 6 to February 23, 2026 – Course selection opens in early November
Session 4 – February 27 to April 24, 2026 – Course selection opens in early January
Session 5 – May 1 to June 18, 2026 – Course selection opens in early March

Step 2: After registering, you will receive a message from Continuing Education detailing how to book a Guidance Appointment or how to select your courses.

Course selection for current and active students

Students who are currently active with HWDSB Continuing Education can register below:

Using your school board logon, access the HWDSB Portal at https://students.hwdbs.on.ca select the My Blueprint icon and select the DCO3O course, if you are doing a 2 credit coop, select this course for both the morning and afternoon time slots.

Once you have registered for the course complete the 2 steps below:

Receive assistance preparing for the Mature Student PLAR Testing and Application.  Mature students with fewer than 26 credits can receive assistance preparing for the Mature Student PLAR Testing and Application, while gaining valuable learning skills and strategies to help them succeed in school and life!

Graduation

Graduates are entitled to one free copy of their Final Transcript and their Diploma.  Please submit your request at:  Transcript Requests

Graduation Celebrations for our class of 2024-2025 will be held in November 2025.  Graduates will be notified when details are confirmed.
