Registration for Summer International Languages Elementary (ILE) 2026 closes on June 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
International Languages Elementary (ILE) classes provide academic instruction in languages other than English and French.
ILE offers in-person classes at sites across Hamilton. Classes run 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday from July 6 to 31, 2026. Classes run either in the morning (9:30 a.m. – noon) or in the afternoons (12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.).
The Summer ILE program will offer the following summer language classes at sites across Hamilton:
- Arabic
- Chinese Simplified / Chinese Traditional
- Hindi
- Korean
- Punjabi
- Spanish
- Tamil
- Vietnamese
Program Information
During Summer 2026, we are offering classes in-person at sites across Hamilton. Classes will be 2.5 hours per day. The program runs Monday to Friday from July 6 to 31, 2026.

A. HWDSB Students and CURRENT HWDSB International Language Elementary (ILE) Program Participants

B. Students NOT ATTENDING an HWDSB Elementary School
Students not attending an HWDSB elementary school will need to:
- Register online using THIS STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM to confirm your child’s information and eligibility, AND
- Complete the ILE Program Application Form.
Be sure to REGISTER FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR (which runs from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026).
Confirmations: In late June, class registration confirmations will be emailed out.
Fees: A fee of $25 will be charged for each course registration for consumable materials.

Eligibility, Fees and Exceptions
Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students who are eligible to attend school for free in Ontario are eligible to participate in the ILE Program. A materials fee of $25 per participant per course enrolment applies. Fees can be paid through the SchoolCash system.
Students are eligible to attend one class in any one language during the summer session. They can, however, take a second class in a different language without paying any additional fees for program instruction. (Example: A student can attend Arabic classes in the morning, and Korean classes in the afternoon at no additional charge.)
If you wish to enroll your child in more than one class in the same language, a fee of $130 per student per additional course is applicable (ex. A student can attend one Arabic class in the morning for a $25 material fee and a second Arabic class in the afternoon for a program fee of $130 for the second class + $25 material fee). Fees can be paid through the SchoolCash system.
Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel, combine or relocate programs. Confirmations for programs and notices of cancellation will be emailed in late June. HWDSB is not providing technology devices or internet access for this program.
