Hello,

This message is being sent to parents of all Grade 12 students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) at Ancaster High.  The ongoing challenge of Covid-19 is changing the way we communicate with our students and their families but we want to remind you that we are here to help and support in whatever way we can.

For those students who are pursuing post-secondary studies in the coming school year, there may be questions about accessing learning support beyond high school.  Attached is a flyer about the online Transition Resource Guide which provides information about support services available at colleges and universities in Ontario.

It is important for students to contact their institution of choice once they have accepted an offer in order to start the process.  We DO NOT send any information regarding special education diagnoses, supports, or testing directly to the colleges or universities.  All information must be provided by the student and their family and the process varies from institution to institution.

The Learning Resource Department will have access to student documentation for a period of one year after the student leaves Ancaster High.  Although we cannot access the building at this time, I would recommend gathering a list of the required documentation so that we can gather it for families once we are allowed to return.  Electronic devices provided by the school do not follow students once they graduate.
