October 13 2020  UPDATE

We are very pleased that students and have staff have settled into a routine of morning face-to-face classes, and then afternoon ‘remote’ classes. Although it is a complicated schedule, students have for the most part found their classes and begun their practical and hands-on learning in each course.  Rotation 2 started today which means that Period 2 classes run fro 8:25 – 10:55 am.

If you have any questions, or even suggestions, please let us know as soon as possible.

Be sure to check out our School Council page where you can find details of recent meetings and an ongoing invitation to participate in Council. All parents/guardians/caregivers of Ancaster High students are welcome anytime.

September 10 2020 UPDATE

Hello Ancaster students and families,

We are almost ready to welcome our Ancaster Royals. Here are four very important things you should know:

  1. The Student Attestation form MUST be completed BEFORE a student comes to school. This is a mandatory requirement of HWDSB as directed by Public Health. Please go to the Parent Portal to complete the form. If you experience difficulties, call or email the school.
  2. Orientation (remotely delivered online) will happen on Friday, September 11 during Period 1 which starts at 8:25 a.m..  Students should check their board email and look for an invitation from their teacher to join the class at MS Teams.
  3. On their first day of school, students will receive a reusable/washable cloth mask and they will sanitize their hands and move directly to their assigned class. We will provide additional specific instructions during in-person class time.  Masks can be taken home, washed, and worn again the next day.
  4. Our parking lot is currently partially fenced in order to allow construction vehicles to safely transit to our turf field area which is progressing very well. Please drive safely and consider dropping students off near the school but not on campus.  “Walk a Block” is a  great strategy.

We look foward to seeing our students soon. If you have questions, please let us know.  Also, if you missed Tuesday’s message and the rather lengthy FAQs and letter to parents, keep on scrolling down this page.

See you soon.
