How to Choose Grade 9 Courses for September 2026

  1. Download the official Grade 9 Option Sheet for current HWDSB students here.
  2. Review the slides from our associate school visits here. We are visiting schools on these dates:
    • January 14 (Meadows & Spring Valley)
    • January 15 (Tiffany Hills)
    • January 16 (Panabaker & Mount Hope)
  3. Plan your 8 courses on the option sheet from Step 1 then keep it in a safe place. Don’t forget to plan one alternate course just in case there is a conflict with your electives!
  4. Ask your parents/guardians to join us for Grade 9 Option Selection Night on January 15, 2026 at Ancaster High School! A copy of the slides will be posted here when available.
  5. In February, Ancaster High School returns to Grade 8 classrooms to support course selection upload to myBlueprint. Did you save your planned courses from Step 3?
  6. The deadline for courses to be uploaded to myBlueprint is February 13, 2026
  7. Logging into myBlueprint from home? Here is a help guide.
  8. Parents/Guardians should check Parent Portal from March 30 – April 2, 2026 (web version only) to make sure your course choices have been accurately received by Ancaster High School. Please approve these choices if correct or contact Ancaster High School if a change is needed. For corrections/changes, please e-mail your student’s guidance counsellor:

Current HWDSB Students Living In-Catchment but Attending an Out-of-Catchment School

Please tell the office assistant at your current HWDSB school that your student plans to attend Ancaster High School for September 2026. They will change your Next School Indicator (NSI) to Ancaster High instead of the secondary school closest to them. Overnight, your student’s myBlueprint profile will change to reflect Ancaster High’s offerings and your student can then choose their courses by the February 13th deadline as usual!

Out-of-Catchment

Ancaster High School’s out-of-catchment status is not yet determined for the 2026-2027 school year. Please monitor HWDSB’s website for updates, and instructions on how to apply if we are open.

If approved, please download this fillable version of our course offerings and e-mail it to Ms. Hillman at [email protected].
