Mental health affects us all – and has real impacts on our lives. HWDSB is committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of all students. HWDSB offers various webinars, workshops and treatment groups to students and families over the course of the school year. Click here for HWDSB’s Mental Health and Well-Being website.

The HWDSB social work department would like to share a resource called One Stop Talk for families. This resource offers free, immediate mental health support to children and youth. Please click here to access the resource flyer.

 


Ancaster High School On-Site Resources

Social Work

Ancaster High School provides on-site social worker support on Mondays and Fridays in the guidance office. Our social worker’s name is Mr. Vince Martorelli. Student contact with Mr. Martorelli requires parent/guardian permission which must be obtained by a teacher or guidance counsellor before referring a student. Mr. Martorelli can be contacted with questions via e-mail or phone at 289-925-2713.

Substance Use Counselling & Education (Alternatives for Youth)

We are pleased to announce the return of Fahima Begun to the Ancaster High Student Services team! Fahima comes to us from an agency called Alternatives for Youth and has been a trusted resource for parents and students for years.

Fahima provides substance use counselling and education and can be reached by students and parents via text message or voice at 289-680-7565.

Fahima is on-site at Ancaster High School on Thursdays. Parents/guardians are also supported directly. Please consult the Alternatives for Youth website for program information.
