Brief Evacuation Today

Dear Families,

This letter is to inform you that Westdale Secondary School had an evacuation today.

A natural gas odour was detected within in the building. The fire alarm was activated, and staff assisted students to evacuate for approximately one hour to their designated fire evacuation zones outside the school building.

Hamilton Fire Department responded quickly and attended. The school was deemed safe to re-enter and students and staff returned to the building. The alarm was pulled as a precaution.

I would like to thank staff and students for their prompt evacuation and for following our safety protocols.
