OSSLT Information – Fall 2025
OSSLT Information to Families 2025-26
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) measures whether students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of the literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. This year, grade 1o students will write the OSSLT in their English class; that is, any grade 10 students taking ENG2D, ENG2P, or ENG2L this semester will write the test on November 18 and 19, 2025.
For parents wanting to learn more about the OSSLT, there is an EQAO parent information webinar on Tuesday, October 28th at 12:00 p.m.; please consult the attachment for a QR code for more details. EQAO OSSLT Parent Webinar
To support our students, we have a number of supports to help our learners feel confident and well-prepared. Earlier today, all students attended the OSSLT Information Assembly in the auditorium. In addition to this, there is a helpful OSSLT Literacy Resource Hub which can be accessed in the Glendale Learning Commons HUB course. For interested students, starting on October 27th, we are also offering a Lunchtime Literacy Prep Course on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during period 4 lunch. Please see the attached flyer. OSSLT Prep – Fall 2025 Glendale This year, we are also providing 1:1 literacy coaching with teachers and/or senior students to answer questions and provide tips. Like always, we will conduct a practice test to help prepare our learners for an authentic test day experience. Lastly, we are attaching some important information to this e-mail to help students and their families prepare at home. Everything OSSLT Oct 2025
