Wismer Award for High School Coaching Excellence
Since its launch in 2004, the Wismer Award for High School Coaching Excellence has stood as a powerful tribute to the heart and soul of school sports—our coaches. Created by the Wismer Family for Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) and the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB), this prestigious award shines a spotlight on coaches who go above and beyond.
These are the mentors who inspire, motivate, and shape the next generation—on the field, in the gym, and beyond. The Wismer Award honours those who make a lasting impact, helping student-athletes grow not just in sport, but in life.
On October 8, 2025 both HWDSB and HWCDSB will announce their individual winners of the finalists selected. All are welcome to join this event, and can RSVP through this QR code or link
